  • Wallis Lake and its estuary are about 85 km 2 – which is 1 ½ times the size of Sydney Harbour.
  • This estuary produces about 40% of all New South Wales Sydney Rock Oysters.
  • About 16 million Sydney Rock Oysters are sold every year. Those that come from Wallis Lake contribute about $8 million to the local economy.
  • Approximately 28 local farmers control 340 hectares of lake, river and estuary. Of these, Graham Barclay Oysters is one of the largest, with 35 full-time employees and seasonal help.
